Job summary

Goldsmiths, University of London invites applications for a Site Supervisor - Electrical & Mechanical at its New Cross Gate campus. You will supervise day-to-day electrical and mechanical maintenance, ensure PPM programming, reactive tasks and statutory compliance are carried out safely and to service levels.

About the department

Estates and Facilities is a technical and specialist directorate of around 250 staff, responsible for maintenance, capital projects, statutory compliance, infrastructure and facilities services across the University's 16-acre New Cross campus, which spans a wide mix of historic, post-war and modern buildings.

About the role

You will supervise and coordinate day-to-day electrical, mechanical and associated maintenance works across the estate, ensuring PPM, reactive and statutory compliance tasks are completed safely and to agreed service levels. You'll act as first point of technical escalation, oversee contractors, and support the maintenance team, reporting to the Head of Maintenance.

About the candidate

You will hold a recognised electrical or mechanical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent) with solid building maintenance or facilities management experience, including supervising staff or contractors. A strong understanding of M&E systems, current H&S legislation and the ability to read technical drawings are essential, along with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
