Job summary

New Bridge School is seeking a diligent maintenance operative to carry out routine maintenance and daily repairs across the site, including painting, decorating, plumbing, carpentry and tiling. The role also involves unlocking buildings each day, responding to call outs, and assisting with fire safety duties.

You will monitor fire safety equipment, help with fire drills, keep records, and ensure essential janitorial stock is available, working as part of a team and reporting issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and daily repairs across a building environment.
• Experience in unlocking/locking school buildings and responding to call outs.
• Experience monitoring fire safety equipment and carrying out drills.
• Experience of team-working and meeting deadlines.
• Good communication skills for polite, courteous customer service.
• Experience of Legionella daily checks and related records.
• Experience of stock control and ordering essential janitorial materials.
• Familiarity with COSHH and reporting issues to line manager.

Responsibilities

• Experience in carrying out maintenance and daily repairs e.g.painting & decorating, general minor repairs (plumbing, carpentry and tiling), unblockingdrains, fitting of shelves and other duties relevant to the post.
• Experience of unlocking and locking schoolbuildings each day, acting as key holder and responding to call outs asrequired
• Experience in monitoringfire safety equipment and assisting with carrying out fire drills, respondingto alarms, recording data as required by management, and recommendingimprovements to safety where necessary.
• Experience of team-working to workeffectively with others and meeting deadlines and goals.
• Communication skills to deliver polite, courteous and efficient customer service.
• Experience in undertakingdaily checks in relation to Legionella
