Job Title: Chargehand Steel Erector / Site Supervisor

About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chargehand Steel Erector to lead a team on a high-profile construction project. As the Chargehand, you will be responsible for supervising steel erection activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of steel erectors on-site.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and steel erection plans.

• Ensure all lifting, rigging, and bolting operations are conducted safely and in accordance with method statements.

• Maintain high standards of health and safety, enforcing site rules and PPE compliance.

• Coordinate with site supervisors, crane operators, welders, and other trades.

• Monitor progress, report issues, and ensure timelines are met.

• Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks as required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a steel erector, with supervisory or Chargehand experience.

• CSCS Card (Steel Erector or Supervisory Level).

• CPCS Slinger/Signaller or relevant lifting certification (preferred).

• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• IPAF, PASMA, or relevant access equipment tickets (an advantage).

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Steel Erection or equivalent (desirable).
