Overview

Site Supervisor – Salary: £31,235-£39,044 per annum. Hours: Full-time position – hours to meet business requirements. Location: Costessey, NR5 0TL.

As a Site Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will play a key role in overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of our site. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of health and safety, environmental compliance, customer service, and operational performance. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week. (1 in 4 Saturdays 0700-1200)

What you will do
  • Supervise day-to-day site operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Lead and mentor a team of site operatives, manage performance, and support their development.
  • Operate plant and equipment safely and ensure all machinery is maintained to required standards.
  • Manage traffic and pedestrian safety in line with the site’s Traffic Management Plan.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing waste, including inspection, validation, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and site administration to ensure full compliance with permits and Duty of Care regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and deal with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Deputise for the Contract Manager as required.

  • Experience working in waste management, logistics, transport, or maintenance in a supervisory role.
  • Strong health and safety awareness with experience working in safety-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of operating heavy plant and machinery.
  • Leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor others.
  • Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy and experience with weighbridge systems (desirable).
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and excellent time-keeping.
