Qualifications

Site Supervisor – Allington

Salary – £15.50 per hour
Hours – 42 hours per week
Location – Allington HWRC, ME16 0LE

As a Site Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will play a vital role in the safe and efficient daily operation of our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Allington. You will support the Contract Manager in maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance, recycling performance and customer service.

This vacancy is a permanent full-time position, working on a rota basis for an average of 42hrs per week. Weekend work will be required.

What will you be doing?

- Supervising the safe operation of the site in accordance with FCC policies, environmental permits, and client contracts
- Supporting the Contract Manager in service delivery and staff development
- Leading and motivating operatives and temporary staff, ensuring all are trained and compliant with H&S standards
- Managing day-to-day site maintenance, recycling targets, and customer satisfaction initiatives
- Monitoring service standards and implementing improvements where needed
- Ensuring compliance with internal quality systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 50001)
- Acting as a key contact for client relationships and supporting new site developments
- Providing cover for the weighbridge and site manager as needed

What are we looking for?

- Experience in a supervisory role within the waste industry (essential)
- Competence in Microsoft Office/Office 365
- Experience operating plant (shovel and material handler)
- Knowledge of COTC (preferably hazardous and non-hazardous waste) and IOSH
- Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills
- A proactive team player with a keen eye for detail
