Job description

Join Our Dynamic Team as a Site Supervisor at Gel Engineering!

Gel Engineering are seeking a skilled Site Supervisor with tools experience. Do you have a passion for making a difference within water and wastewater projects? This is your chance to supervise as well as being hands on to deliver successful infrastructure projects.

What you will do:
  1. Carry out on site dynamic risk assessments and identify health and safety hazards.
  2. Mechanical fault finding and problem solving.
  3. Mechanical site installations.
  4. Plan day works and ensure appropriate skill sets are applied to task.
  5. Provide technical assistance to ground operatives to ensure jobs are attended promptly and are closed efficiently / without the need for re-attendance.
  6. Represent management onsite and co-ordinate staff in emergency situations.
  7. Assist in development of routine, reactive and emergency standard operating procedures.
  8. Liaise with the customer and Project Managers to address any access issues / planning issues that may arise.
  9. Carry out site inspections and completion of site diaries.
  10. Review reports periodically to ensure the required information is being captured and a high quality is maintained.
  11. Supervise team is onsite in high profile and technically challenging tasks.
  12. Ensure all operatives are adhering to safety procedures and that near misses / accidents / incidents and non-conformances are reported.
  13. Provide support in compiling information and generating quotations for remedial works.
  14. Support Project Manager in collating remedial works packages and drafting scope of works.
  15. Supervise team is onsite and ensure efficient delivery of onsite works.
  16. Carry out site surveys and attend client meetings.
  17. Ensure stock of consumables is maintained and restocked accordingly.
  18. Carry out periodic safety observations, quality audits and vehicle inspections.
  19. Assist in the improvement of workflow management systems.
  20. Deliver toolbox talks and safety alerts to on-site team.
  21. Assist Project Manager in putting together and implementation of the Method Statements and Risk Assessment control measures.
What you will bring:
  1. Possess GCSE (Grade A-C) or an equivalent standard in English and Maths.
  2. Mechanical experience.
  3. Ability to motivate team.
  4. Strong analytical skills.
  5. Strong commercial acumen.
  6. Strong communication and diplomacy.
  7. Hold:
  • CSCS or equivalent
  • SSSTS
  • EUSR Water and Sewage (Preferred not essential)
  • PASMA (Desired but not essential)
  • IPAF (Desired but not essential)
  • Confined space (not essential)
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Working knowledge of on-site engineering projects.
  • Experience in on-site engineering environment would be ideal Skills and Attribute.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Hard working and conscientious.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, be self-motivated and work part of a team.
  • Work to high standard.
  • Previous experience in the water industry (preferred not essential).
