Job summary

Mick George Group is recruiting a Site Supervisor for the Earthworks division. The role oversees daily site operations, leads the workforce, and ensures quality and safety standards across projects.

The location varies across Mick George contracting sites nationwide. Key duties include supervising earthworks, coordinating resources, delivering inductions, maintaining records, and enforcing RAMS and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year’s experience in Earthworks/Plant site supervision.
  • Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental laws.
  • Competent in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint).
  • SMSTS/SSSTS certification.
  • CSCS Card is required.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and leadership at all times.
  • Clear communication with management and stakeholders.
  • Follow company policies and safety rules without exception.
  • Promote a positive safety culture at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily earthworks and soil stabilisation activities, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.
  • Ensure all work complies with RAMS, project specifications, site instructions, and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and resources to achieve programme and production targets.
  • Allocate daily tasks using allocation sheets and monitor attendance, performance, and compliance.
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, shift briefings, and safety communications.
  • Complete and review timesheets, daily worksheets, GRNs, and site records accurately and on time.
  • Maintain production logs, plant utilisation records, and support weekly progress reporting.
  • Manage plant inspections, defect reporting, maintenance, and efficient equipment utilisation.
  • Monitor quality standards including compaction, moisture, levels, tolerances, and material suitability.
  • Support site testing activities and promptly report elevations of non-conformances.
  • Enforce health, safety, environmental, and PPE requirements across operations.
  • Manage environmental controls, hazard reporting, and incident investigations.
  • Verify material deliveries, monitor usage, and minimise waste.
  • Act as the link between site operatives, subcontractors, engineers, and management.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, risks, resource needs, and issues.
  • Assist planning labour, plant, materials, and sequencing to minimise delays.
  • Identify risks including weather impacts, equipment breakdowns, and shortages.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for safety and productivity.
  • Complete any ad-hoc requests from management.

Here at the Mick George Group we are currently recruiting a Site Supervisor to join the Earthworks division.

Location: Mick George Contracting sites – which will vary across the country

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 6am -6pm, Saturdays as and when required 6am – 1pm

Pay: Dependent on experience.

Role Purpose

The Site Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of daily site operations, workforce management, and ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained. The role requires hands‑on leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Complete any ad-hoc requests given by management
Skills & Qualifications Required
