Job summary

Ground Control is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead the delivery of public EV charging installations and highway works. You’ll supervise on-site teams, coordinate labour and materials, and ensure all works are carried out to the highest safety and quality standards.

You’ll report to the Site Manager, oversee day-to-day activities, and drive safety culture across projects. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a focus on delivering impactful infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience on live public highways and major projects.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification required.
• Traffic management experience and understanding of highway site set-ups.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead field teams to deliver works safely, efficiently and to high standards.
• Oversee daily site operations, align work with project plans and deadlines.
• Coordinate labour, materials and equipment with Site Manager.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify risks or delays.
• Provide daily briefings and allocate tasks to teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor performance and ensure accountability for deliverables.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and other documentation are in place before work begins.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Escalate issues and engage with stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate records using EHS systems and MS Office.

You're an experienced Site Supervisor who enjoys being out on site, leading teams and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You take pride in keeping projects on track, supporting operational teams and solving problems before they become issues.

We're looking for a Site Supervisor to join our Landscaping, Design and Energy division at Ground Control. Working closely with the Site Manager, you'll be supervising our Public EV Charge Point installations along highways. You'll play a key role in the day-to-day supervision of site activities, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the quality standards our clients expect.

You'll work alongside experienced operational leaders, developing your knowledge, leadership skills and experience across a variety of landscaping and construction projects.

What you'll do:

You'll support the successful delivery of projects by supervising teams, maintaining standards and ensuring safe and efficient site operations.

Oversee daily site operations, ensuring work is delivered in line with project plans, specifications and deadlines.

Support the Site Manager with the coordination of labour, materials and equipment.

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential risks, issues or delays.

Provide daily briefings and allocate tasks to field teams and subcontractors.

Monitor team performance, providing guidance and support to achieve expected standards.

Ensure site teams understand their responsibilities and remain accountable for deliverables and deadlines.

Verify that all required site documentation, including RAMS and permits, is in place before work commences.

Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Report hazards, near misses and best practices through systems such as Safety Culture.

Support quality assurance activities through inspections, audits and checks on completed work.

Escalate site issues, quality concerns and operational challenges where appropriate.

Act as a key communication link between site teams and the Site Manager.

Provide accurate updates on project progress, site performance and client interactions.

Make informed day-to-day operational decisions and escalates more significant issues when required.

Maintain accurate records using systems including Microsoft Office, Skillco and Safety Culture.

What we're looking for:

Highway/street works experience, ideally on live public highways.

SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.

Traffic management experience and understanding of highway site set‑ups.

Underground services experience, including CAT & Genny and service avoidance.

Excavation, ducting, bases, backfill and reinstatement experience.

EV charging experience – ideally charger bases, feeder pillars, joint holes and associated infrastructure.

Good understanding of DNO/ICP drawings

Evidence of managing multiple jobs/crews at the same time – ideally with numbers and scale.

Experience with RAMS, permits, inspections and CDM requirements.

Ability to manage local authorities, clients, highway inspectors and other stakeholders.

Strong quality‑control and problem‑solving skills.
