Job summary

Network Plus group is seeking a Site Supervisor to lead local Repair and Maintenance teams delivering water network works at Raynesway Depot, Derby. You’ll supervise daily activities, ensure safety, budget adherence, and alignment with client expectations under Severn Trent Water.

You will drive right-first-time delivery, coordinate labour, materials, and plant, and report progress with clear documentation. A supervisory qualification and water sector experience are essential.

Qualifications

• NRWSA supervisory level qualification and water sector experience essential.
• Health and safety qualification advantageous.
• Strong management and communication skills required.
• Proficient IT skills including Excel and Word.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Have operational supervisory responsibility for Repair and Maintenance teams and their daily activities.
• Organise labour cost-effectively including recruitment, disciplinary action, wages and absence management.
• Manage all other resources such as materials and plant.
• Ensure accurate information is captured of works undertaken, including photographs.
• Visit teams at local site level to review progress and performance and ensure standards are met.
• Carry out monthly team briefings; coach and develop operational teams to reach potential.
• Complete team inspections focusing on compliance, quality and right-first-time delivery.
• Act as Health & Safety Representative; conduct safety inspections and reportable incident investigations.

As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for local operational teams who deliver the day to day aspects of Repair and Maintenance of the water network

Compensation

£35,000 - £40,000 / year

You will supervise the teams - ensuring that the work is delivered safely on time, within budget and to our client's expectations.

In addition to Health and Safety, customer service is critical to our work. You will ensure that work is carried out in a manner, which builds the confidence of developers and adopts a 'right first time' approach.

Satisfaction of developers is measured through a new regulatory measure called C-MeX. You will work closely with Severn Trent Water.

Key Responsibilities

• Have operational supervisory responsibility for a designated group of Repair and Maintenance teams, and their daily activities
• Organise labour in the most cost-effective way, including recruitment, disciplinary action, wages and absence management
• Manage all other resources e.g. materials and plant
• Ensure accurate information is captured of works undertaken, including photographs
• Visit teams at local site level - reviewing progress and performance and ensuring standards are adhered to
• Carry out team briefings with teams on a monthly basis; coaching and developing operational teams to reach their potential
• Complete Team Inspections ensuring a high level of Compliance with a real focus on quality and right first-time operational delivery
• Be a Health & Safety Representative; undertaking health & safety inspections in and around the workplace, raising health and safety related matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents as and when they occur

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Relevant qualifications in relation to the work being carried out i.e. NRWSA at supervisory level
• Previous experience in the Water sector is essential
• Health & Safety qualification would be an advantage
• Good management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Financial and commercial awareness
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Full UK Driving Licence
