Job summary

Haygrove School, Bridgwater, is seeking a highly motivated Site Supervisor to lead our Site team in maintaining buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students and staff. You will oversee security, health and safety, porterage, minor repairs, and champion best value by supporting tendering and quotes with the Operations Manager and Trust Estates Lead.

Flexibility for events and lettings is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a site team in a school or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Ability to manage security, lettings support and minor repairs.
• Flexibility to assist with school events and unlocking/locking as required.

Job description

Haygrove School, Bridgwater, requires a highly motivated Site Supervisor to join and support with leading our dedicated Site team in ensuring the smooth running of the care and upkeep of the buildings and grounds.

In this key role, you will oversee the high standard operation of maintaining the premises and grounds in order to support teaching and learning, which will include security, organising and directing Site Staff, Health and Safety, porterage, and carrying out minor repairs. In addition, you will provide the Operations Manager and Trust Estates Lead with support for tendering and obtaining quotes/estimates to ensure best value.

Some flexibility with hours will be required to provide assistance with school events and to support the Lettings provision and unlocking/locking up as and when required.

Ideal candidates will be excellent problem solvers with practical skills, open to new practices and ideas, and possess a positive "can-do" and resilient attitude with a calm and flexible approach; you will be self-motivated and have knowledge of health and safety and safe working practices alongside having the personable skills required to support with the line management of the Site Team. All staff are expected to promote the safety and welfare of students in accordance with the Trust's policies.
