A recruitment agency is looking for a Caretaker / Site Supervisor for a SEN school in East Lancashire. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the site’s security, managing general maintenance tasks, and supporting a safe environment for students and staff. Ideal candidates should be reliable, practical, and able to work independently. Previous experience is a plus but not mandatory as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure site security through locking and unlocking premises.
  • Carry out general maintenance and DIY tasks.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.

  • Liaise with contractors for supervision of works.
  • Oversee upkeep of outdoor areas.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues or call-outs.

Overview

Caretaker / Site Supervisor

Location: East Lancashire

Start Date: As soon as possible  Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Tradewind are working with an SEN School within East Lancashire who are seeking a dedicated and proactive Caretaker / Site Supervisor to join the supportive team as soon as possible.

They are a well-established SEN secondary school, committed to providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment where our students and staff can flourish. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our learning environment.

About the Role

Caretaker / Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Site security - unlocking/locking the premises and ensuring the site is secure at all times
  • General maintenance - carrying out minor repairs and DIY tasks to ensure the building and grounds are well-maintained
  • Health & Safety - maintaining a safe environment, completing checks, and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Cleaning and hygiene support - supporting the cleaning team and ensuring facilities are kept to a high standard
  • Contractor liaison - supervising external contractors and monitoring works carried out on site
  • Grounds maintenance - overseeing the general upkeep of outdoor areas
  • Emergency response - responding to any urgent maintenance issues or call-outs as required
