Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Laboratory Setting, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Job Description

You will be passionate about service delivery excellence for UnityTM Lab Services. Specific activities relative to the job function will include order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, metric reporting, stockroom services, and material handling. Assist with additional site-based tasks related to inventory or scientific services as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Gas cylinder management
  • LN2/C02 / Dry Ice management
  • Order standard gas cylinders in accordance with customer procedures
  • Receive gas cylinders and perform detailed inspection upon receipt
  • Inventory locations and perform routine pressure checks
  • Coordinate gas cylinders with vendor
  • Maintain appropriate stock of cylinders at all designated stock areas, including freezer farms, supply areas, and laboratory point-of-use (POUs)
  • Receive and deliver weekly dry ice orders
  • Maintain a clean environment
  • Promote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within the functional area
  • Serve as the first point of contact for any gas and dry ice matters or concerns
  • Stockroom duties may include receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, detailed replenishment, and other functions according to customer requirements
  • Listen to customer concerns, effectively diffuse dissatisfaction, and quickly identify a course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times
  • Work effectively with a diverse cross-functional team
  • Adopt Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies
  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations
  • Participate in individual or group projects that can include cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing job training methods, and team meetings
  • Attend required training sessions
Education
  • High School graduate or equivalent experience
Experience
  • Previous inventory experience is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proven verbal, written, and presentation skills

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Works primarily in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations, and laboratory environments
  • Walking/standing may be required for up to 70% of the day
  • May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)
  • Able to lift, push and pull 30-50 pounds as needed
  • Able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks
  • Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, facemask, and/or safety gloves
