Job description

An established engineering solutions provider in the North East is seeking an experienced Site Services Manager to join their expanding UK operations. The company is renowned for delivering complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation systems to major industrial projects nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on-site safety compliance and enforce company and client H&S standards.
  • Coordinate installation and commissioning activities between clients, internal teams, and project managers.
  • Supervise installation and integration of heavy mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Help shape and grow the service and maintenance side of the business.
  • Sell and promote engineering services and maintenance contracts across the UK.
  • Develop a UK services business plan in your first 90 days.
  • Manage and allocate tasks to site and commissioning teams.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and project delivery timelines.
  • Conduct site inductions, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes as required.
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior management and clients.
  • Develop and communicate commissioning schedules with engineering and project teams.
  • Support the delivery of service orders and customer spares.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience commissioning machinery and systems in heavy industrial environments (e.g. Mining, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Steel, or Rail).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience managing or selling service/maintenance contracts.
  • Confident developing processes, plans and reporting for a growing business.
  • HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the UK.
  • Flexible for c40% travel - majority across the UK with occasional international trips for site support/training.
Desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification or equivalent.

  • £60,000 - £70,000 per annum (based on 40‑hour week).
