Job summary

Martin Brower UK & Ireland is seeking a Site Services Facilities Maintenance Engineer at the Hemel Hempstead Distribution Centre to provide engineering and facilities maintenance support. The role includes planned preventive maintenance, reactive work, and a 1-in-4 weekend, 24/7 call-out rota; you will ensure safe, reliable operation of site equipment and building services.

You will work with contractors and service providers, uphold CARES values, and contribute to safety, continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Hold a City & Guilds Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• MIG and MMA welding qualification with fabrication project experience.
• Experience in engineering, facilities maintenance, warehouse, production, or similar environments.
• Able to work independently and with colleagues.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Proficient IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Keen to learn and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and support reactive maintenance to keep site operations running smoothly.
• Assist with maintenance, repair, and inspection of mechanical, electrical, and building services within training and competence.
• Collaborate with external contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Support upkeep of site facilities, including building fabric repairs, equipment maintenance, and general site services.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update facilities management systems for compliance and effectiveness.
• Promote health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Share ideas and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and site performance.
