Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking a Site Services Engineer for a well-invested manufacturing site in Wells, Somerset. You’ll own and optimise site utilities—steam, compressed air, water treatment, effluent, refrigeration—while overseeing contractors and maintaining safe, efficient operations.

The role is factory-based, Monday to Friday, 40 hours, with premium overtime and a structured path for external qualifications and technical upskilling, plus a strong pension and bonus.

Qualifications

• NVQ (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• Multi-skilled maintenance background (electrical and mechanical).
• Site services/utilities experience (e.g. boilers, water treatment, air con, refrigeration) within FMCG/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage site services/utilities (steam plant, compressed air, water systems, effluent, refrigeration) in a modern manufacturing facility.
• Contractor management, stock control and general building/site maintenance to keep the site operating safely and efficiently.
• Days-based role, Monday to Friday (40 hours) with premium overtime available (1.5x).

Factory Based - Wells, Somerset (Commutable from: Glastonbury, Street, Shepton Mallet, Frome, Yeovil, Bridgwater, Weston-super-Mare, Bristol)

In this role you’ll take ownership of the site's utilities and services in Wells, maintaining and managing systems such as steam, compressed air, water treatment/distribution, effluent, refrigeration, and wider site maintenance with contractor oversight.
