Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Anwick is seeking a Site Services Engineer to join the maintenance team on a permanent basis. The role requires proactive knowledge sharing, lean improvement mindset and hands-on maintenance across steam, refrigeration, heating and effluent systems.

You will work with site personnel and commissioning engineers to train new equipment operators, develop skills within the MP competency framework, and ensure safe, compliant plant operation. A full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 minimum and maintenance training.
• Experience in site services or maintenance roles.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow process controls.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a proactive department member, sharing knowledge with the team.
• Apply lean thinking to optimise plant productivity and prompt start-up times.
• Coordinate with site personnel and commissioning engineers for equipment training.
• Develop skills within the department per MP competency framework.
• Operate and maintain steam boilers, refrigeration, heating and effluent systems.
• Maintain general site repair, pipefitting and services.
• Carry out portable appliance testing and emergency light testing.

• Participate constructively as a member of the department keeping everyone informed and proactively share your knowledge and expertise within the time.
• Apply lean thinking techniques to ensure the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved thus demonstrating commitment towards achieving factory targets, including prompt start up times.
• Work with site personnel and commissioning engineers to ensure required process skills training is performed for all new equipment.
• Contribute to that department/ add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with MP competency framework.
• Operation and maintenance of steam boilers, refrigeration systems, fluid transfer systems, heating systems, hot and cold-water systems and effluent treatment systems.
• Working with Mechanical Drive Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics and electrics.
• Preventative Maintenance
• Any other reasonable duties as required.
• Portable appliance testing.
• Emergency Light Testing.
• To Maintain general good repair of site fabrication and general services.
• To monitor and control any negative environmental impact arising from the processes within area of responsibility; ensuring that all direct reports and colleagues are briefed and clear in regard to their responsibilities as outlined in the Moy Park Group Risk Management System Manual.
