Site Services Engineer - Food Manufacturing
Location: Northallerton
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Are you a proactive and skilled Site Services Engineer ready for your next challenge in a fast-paced food production environment?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading and growing food manufacturer based in North Yorkshire. We're looking for a time-served engineer with strong mechanical knowledge and experience across a range of site services systems.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our factory services while also driving improvements and supporting site projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, and inspections.
  • Carry out plant and equipment improvements to boost performance and reliability.
  • Record work in SHIRE MMS and keep documentation up to date.
  • Write and update maintenance schedules and written schemes.
  • Maintain records to meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Manage and update site services asset data, including critical spares lists.
  • Work closely with engineering stores to ensure parts availability.
  • Support the wider engineering team with mechanical fitter work and small projects.
  • Provide training and mentoring for engineering staff and apprentices.
  • Advise on new installations and engineering projects.

What We're Looking For:

  • A mechanical or electrical qualification with relevant hands-on experience.
  • Strong background in maintaining:
    • Industrial gas-fired boilers
    • Air compressors
    • Hot water systems
    • Heat exchangers
    • Drainage systems
    • Lighting
    • RO/waste treatment plants
  • Good mechanical knowledge with some electrical ability.
  • A self-starter with strong initiative, flexibility, and solid judgment.
  • Confident, decisive, and influential - someone who can hit the ground running.
