Job summary

Hunter Savage is seeking a Site Services Engineer for a well-established organisation in Cookstown. This role focuses on maintaining and optimising site utility systems including steam, water treatment, compressed air, refrigeration, heat pumps and LV electricals.

You will join a team delivering proactive maintenance on a Monday–Friday rotating shift, with a £55,500 basic salary and strong benefits such as annual leave and pension.

Qualifications

• Time served electrical or mechanical apprenticeship.
• Previous experience within a site services, utilities, facilities or maintenance engineering position.
• Experience working with industrial utility systems such as steam, refrigeration, compressed air or water treatment.
• A practical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• Comfortable working a rotating early and late shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the performance of site services and utility systems.
• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Support steam generation and distribution systems.
• Maintain water and effluent treatment equipment.
• Monitor compressed air, refrigeration and heat pump systems.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical and low-voltage electrical equipment.
• Complete inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Support compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections and repairs.
• Work closely with engineering, production and external service providers.

The successful Site Services Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising a broad range of essential site utility systems. These will include steam generation and distribution, water and effluent treatment, compressed air, refrigeration plant, heat pumps and low-voltage electrical systems.
