The Site Service Engineer is responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and training on a range of print and mailing production equipment, as well as knowledge of ancillary finishing equipment. This internal and external contact handles all hardware and software related problems, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures in a timely manner, while following the company's procedures for proper repair and escalation.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Minimize operational downtime by troubleshooting and repairing all mechanical, electrical, and software issues, and liaising with third-party suppliers where equipment may be under service contract.
  2. Maintain site customer equipment through routine and preventative maintenance, following company procedures for repairs and escalation.
  3. Keep accurate records of on-site equipment parts inventory, and schedule and order parts for replenishment.
  4. Identify, analyze, and repair machine failures; order replacement parts as needed.
  5. Assist production with daily operations and operator duties.
  6. Provide technical product training and basic user functionality training to staff as required.
  7. Escalate technical and mechanical issues to the Operations Manager.
  8. Provide product feedback and suggestions to the Operations Manager.
  9. Create and analyze dashboard reports, parts usage reports, and site history to ensure maximum machine uptime, adhering to best practices.
  10. Expand technical knowledge by attending training courses when available.
  11. Perform out-of-hours support if necessary due to business needs.
  12. Foster positive relations by communicating effectively with staff and suppliers, responding to inquiries professionally.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of industry/equipment experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience with mailing camera systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with others to achieve goals.
