About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Site/Section Engineer (Assistant Package Manager) to join our Major Projects team at the iconic Old Oak Common development in London.
HS2's new c. £1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK's best-connected rail station upon completion. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will oversee the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
The station will feature six underground platforms and up to eight on the adjacent Great Western Main Line, providing high-speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, the North, and direct links to three major airports. It will include passenger and retail facilities, offering an exceptional experience for passengers and visitors.
As a Site/Section Engineer (Assistant Package Manager), you will support the management of the WP10.2 Subcontractor for HS2 Headhouses and Ancillary Buildings, including Structural Steelwork, Cladding, Facade and Glazing, Reinforced Concrete, Fit-out, and interfaces with other work packages such as MEP, Urban Realm, and others.

HS2's station construction partner, Balfour Beatty VINCI Systra joint venture (BBVS), is leading the construction of HS2's new Old Oak Common Station, set to be one of the UK's most vital transport hubs. The station will feature 14 platforms, including six high-speed and eight conventional service platforms, within an 850m-long station box. It is expected to be among the busiest railway stations in the country, with high-speed services to the Midlands, Scotland, North, and connections to central London and Heathrow via Crossrail Elizabeth Line.
