Job Description

The role is for a business-focused Site Reliability Engineer with solid experience in IT environments, tools, and technologies. The individual will be a problem solver, eager to learn and partner with production Risk, Operations, BDRM, and IT Development teams to maintain the CDSClear application and infrastructure. Responsibilities will be defined by the team lead, with on-call duties during specified hours.

The position is based in London, with regular interaction with teams in Paris and New York. Shift work to cover US clearing hours or end-of-day batches is required, though the model is expected to evolve, reducing regional support needs over time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide Level 2 IT support for CDSClear, including support of trade management and risk systems.
2. Establish a new operating model for application support in AWS.
3. Collaborate with business and IT teams on the CDSClear project.
4. Participate in out-of-hours on-call support.
5. Support late shifts until 10 pm London Time, subject to change.
6. Manage CDSClear environments to ensure availability and performance.
7. Drive support, change, capacity, and risk management for CDSClear applications and infrastructure.
8. Coordinate event handling and liaise with other teams.
9. Manage procedures for daily clearing sessions to meet service levels.
10. Oversee team activity and workload distribution.
11. Coordinate disaster recovery tests and business continuity compliance.
12. Manage incident response and resolution.
13. Implement continuous improvement initiatives for stability and efficiency.
14. Support automation and release processes using DevOps tools.
15. Hands-on support with AWS, Unix, SQL, BMC Control-M, Web Services, IBM MQ, and networks.
16. Ensure security vulnerabilities are addressed in collaboration with security teams.

Skills Required:

• Experience with AWS infrastructure and troubleshooting.
• Background in IT delivery within large financial institutions.
• Knowledge of OTC trade management and risk systems.
• Support experience in Unix environments with Oracle and IBM MQ.
• Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management tools and processes.
• Effective stakeholder management skills.
• Interest in automation and ITIL standards.
• Strong production support and team leadership capabilities.
• Understanding of monitoring tools like Datadog.

Additional Skills:

• Experience with Java applications.
• Unix scripting, SQL, Control-M, PowerBI, automation tools.
