Job summary

Durlston Partners is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join a London-based, lean engineering team. You’ll own reliability, scalability and performance of critical systems, splitting time between operational support and delivering new infrastructure projects.

You'll lead scalable cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud networking, collaborating with users and engineering teams to drive projects from design through production.

Qualifications

• Strong experience across Kubernetes, Terraform, Linux, networking, and automation.
• Experience operating infrastructure in a major cloud environment (GCP preferred).
• Comfortable in a lean engineering team, balancing production support and projects.
• Strong communication skills for a user-facing role.
• No finance experience required.

Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) | Global Hedge Fund | London

• I’m working with a leading Global Hedge Fund looking to hire a Senior Site Reliability Engineer into a small, highly capable engineering team in London.
• This is a high-ownership role where you’ll help drive the reliability, scalability and performance of critical systems, splitting your time between operational support and the delivery of new infrastructure projects.
• You’ll have significant autonomy and take ownership of projects from initial design through to production.

The role will involve:

• Building and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure
• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines
• Linux systems and cloud-native networking
• Improving reliability through SLOs / SLIs
• Working closely with engineering teams and users
• Driving infrastructure projects from inception through to production

What they’re looking for:

• Strong experience across Kubernetes, Terraform, Linux, networking and automation, alongside experience operating infrastructure within a major cloud environment.
• The fund primarily operates in GCP, although candidates coming from strong AWS or Azure environments are absolutely encouraged to apply.
• You’ll need to be comfortable working within a lean engineering team, switching between production support, automation and longer-term infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication skills are particularly important given the collaborative and user-facing nature of the position.
• No finance experience is needed.
