Job Description:

The purpose of the job is to lead the deployment of the Pet Nutrition Europe R&D strategy on the site, driving continuous improvement in Quality & Food Safety management systems, ensuring compliance with Q&FS and product design standards, and implementing the site's product, process, and packaging development pipeline.

Location:

Leeds, UK

Compensation:

£62,000 - £77,000, plus annual bonus, benefits, and car allowance

What are we looking for?

• Extensive experience in a technical function
• Degree in a relevant technical or scientific discipline (Food Science/Technology, Biological, Chemical, Engineering sciences), or equivalent experience
• Experience leading and managing projects in an FMCG environment
• Proven line management or coaching experience
• Knowledge of Quality & Food Safety management systems and standards
• Knowledge of food manufacturing technologies, processes, formulations, and raw materials is preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Good command of the English language

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and support a team of Site R&D Associates
• Represent R&D as a key member of the Site Leadership team and support local site strategy development
• Develop and implement a local R&D strategy aligned with broader site goals
• Ensure compliance with global Q&FS standards through cross-functional leadership
• Integrate Q&FS procedures into manufacturing systems
• Manage Q&FS incidents on site and lead corrective actions
• Participate in regional Q&FS communities to share knowledge
• Lead regional or cross-site projects in line with Q&FS strategies
