Job summary

Wates is seeking a Site Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a major construction project in South Derbyshire. You will play a key role in day-to-day commercial management, helping to ensure cost control, subcontractor management and successful financial outcomes throughout the construction lifecycle.

Working with operations, design and supply chain teams, you’ll contribute to delivery on a large, complex scheme while developing your experience in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor or Site Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Strong understanding of commercial management within construction.
• Experience on medium to large projects; ability to manage subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of designated work packages from procurement through to final account.
• Manage subcontractor relationships, prepare valuations and forecasts, monitor costs, support change and commercial risk.
• Maintain robust commercial controls, provide accurate reporting and deliver commercial insight for project performance.
