Site Quality Control Representative – EGL1 Project (Onshore Installation)
Role Definition

Job Type: Full-time, on-site position

Reports To: Project Quality Manager

Location: Main office is in Dunbar (Scotland) and the UK site is in Seaham.

Job Overview:

The Site Quality Control (QC) Representative will be responsible for overseeing the quality control activities on-site for the EGL1 Project, ensuring compliance with client’s Quality Management System (QMS), client specifications, and contractual requirements. The role involves managing both client and subcontractor activities, ensuring adherence to the Project Quality Plan and applicable local regulatory standards. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Monitoring & Compliance:
  • Monitor and verify the progress of prefabrication in line with the relevant Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Oversee all special processes activities on-site, ensuring that all parameters comply with established procedures.
  • Witness and document Testing and repair activities as per project requirements.
  • Review calibration records, personal qualifications, QC reports, and monitor quarantine areas for materials and items.
  • Ensure compliance with the Project Quality Plan, approved procedures, and project specifications at all times.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Review and verify subcontractor records for accuracy and compliance.
    • Report immediately any suspected discrepancies, non-conformities, or quality concerns to the Site Manager, Project Manager, and Project Quality Manager. Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of Non-Conformance (NC) issues.
    • Provide regular weekly reports on progress, inspection results, and defect rates of ongoing production.
    • Review and comment on subcontractor documentation and inspection test plans.
    • Prepare Quality documents and reports as required.
    • Plan and conduct site and subcontractor quality audits.
  • Site Inspections & Coordination:
    • Conduct inspections and monitor quality control measures across work areas, NDT, receipt/storage areas, and fabrication activities.
    • Ensure that quality control practices align with approved ITPs, procedures, and technical drawings.
    • Liaise with client representatives and subcontractor personnel to address quality-related concerns, deviations, or issues.
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Perform QC inspections at project sites as directed by the Project Quality Manager.
    • Act as a point of contact for all quality-related matters on-site, ensuring consistent communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.

    Job Requirements:

    1. Educational Background:
    • Technical Education in Engineering or equivalent (required).
  • Experience & Skills:
    • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Quality Control within the EPC industry.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001.
    • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g. IEC, BS, NG).
    • Experience in audit practices and knowledge of ISO 19001 standards is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in the use of PC and software tools relevant to the role.
    • Strong command of the English language (C1 level or higher).
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage teams and influence outcomes.
    • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.

    Working Conditions:

    1. Environment: This position requires working on construction sites, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and physical activities.
    2. Travel: Occasional travel may be required to different project sites.
