A leading landscaping recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a highly experienced Site/Project Manager for a prestigious soft landscaping project in Chichester. The successful candidate will lead operatives, ensure project compliance, and maintain material control, while supporting timely project delivery from ASAP until October 2025. Strong site management and leadership skills are essential for this full-time role.
We are seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented Site/Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a complex soft landscaping package at the prestigious site in Chichester. The role requires full-time site presence and close coordination with the principal contractor, client representatives, and internal teams.
Duration: ASAP until October 2025 (with potential extension)
Site/Project Manager
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise operatives across 5 6 gangs (trees, shrubs, fencing, hedging).
• Interpret and work from site maps, planting plans, and phasing schedules.
• Maintain accurate inventory control of trees, shrubs, fencing, and materials.
• Conduct daily briefings to ensure all works are delivered to spec and on time.
• Liaise with site team each morning and provide daily progress reports to contractor management.
• Oversee health & safety compliance, including RAMS, PPE, and safe working practices.
• Coordinate with suppliers and nurseries to ensure timely deliveries and quality control.
• Support the implementation of the Gantt programme and flag risks or delays proactively.
Candidate Requirements:
• Proven experience managing soft landscaping projects of similar scale and complexity.
• Strong site management skills with the ability to adhere to programme, track progress, and pre-empt issues.
• Excellent planning and coordination of materials, labour, and equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and planting schedules.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach.
• CSCS card (Gold or Black preferred); SSSTS or SMSTS desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
