Job summary

We Are Footprint is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a temporary position overseeing a new build housing scheme in Leeds. This vital role includes ensuring smooth daily operations of the project, supervising construction activities, managing subcontractors, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

Job Title: Site Manager – New Build Housing (Temporary)

Overview:

We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a new build residential housing scheme in Leeds on a freelance basis. This is a key role on-site, responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the project, from groundworks through to final handover.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and proactive manager with a strong background in housebuilding and a commitment to quality, health & safety, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities
• Manage subcontractors and ensure works are completed safely and to a high standard
• Monitor progress against the programme and report to senior management
• Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and enforce site health & safety standards
• Maintain site records and ensure compliance with NHBC/building regulations
• Liaise with suppliers, local authorities, and internal teams

Requirements:

• CSCS (ideally Black)
• First Aid at Work – essential
• Proven experience managing new build housing sites (volume or bespoke)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Able to start immediately or at short notice

• Competitive hourly rate: £23 – £25 p/h (depending on experience)
