The Westleigh School in Lancashire is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable Site & Premises Supervisor to ensure a safe, secure and well-maintained environment for students and staff.

You will oversee daily site operations, coordinate contractors, conduct health and safety checks, manage security, and respond to emergencies with a proactive approach to maintenance in a busy secondary school.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hands‑on Site & Premises Supervisor to join our secondary school and play a key role in ensuring our school environment is safe, secure, well‑maintained and welcoming for our students, staff and visitors.

Working as part of the school’s support team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school site and premises, ensuring buildings, facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard.

We are looking for someone who will:
  • Take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, secure and welcoming school environment.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the school site, buildings and grounds.
  • Carry out regular site checks and respond promptly to any maintenance or health and safety issues.
  • Coordinate contractors and external services, ensuring work is completed safely and effectively.
  • Support with compliance checks, statutory testing and health and safety requirements.
  • Manage site security, including opening and closing the school and responding to emergencies where required.
  • Work proactively to identify issues and ensure they are resolved efficiently.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, students, contractors and visitors.

The successful candidate will be practical, organised and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload. Previous experience in a site, premises, estates or facilities role would be desirable, ideally within an educational setting.
