Job summary

Astute People are partnering with MVV Environment LTD to recruit a highly experienced Facility Manager for a flagship Energy from Waste Power Station under construction in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. The role is site-based with a competitive salary, bonus and private medical insurance.

You will lead mobilisation, oversee construction and commissioning activities, manage KPI-driven performance and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards across the site.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience within Power Generation or Energy from Waste facilities.
• 5+ years' experience in a senior leadership or plant management role.
• HNC / HND / ONC Engineering qualifications will also be considered with relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of legislation such as CDM, ISO, PPSR, LOLER, PUWER and Environmental Compliance & permits.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams.
• A proactive approach to operational improvement and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Guide the plant through Construction & Commissioning phases and secure a successful handover.
• Operate the plant to KPI targets, maximise efficiency and deliver cost savings.
• Maximise plant availability and effectiveness to improve profitability.
• Implement and maintain management systems to operate the new Energy from Waste plant.
• Support wider Engineering & Project teams with technical issues during start up activities.
• Oversee full CAPEX planning including budgeting, forecasting & master planning.
• Provide leadership and establish a new team with clear objectives.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality compliance including permits and ISO standards.
• Liaise with stakeholders and EPC Contractor for build issues and construction meetings.
• Mobilise the site staff and recruit the project team.
