Site Piping Engineer (m/f)

Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering firm established over 30 years ago, specializing in test coordination and industrial commissioning. TES also assists its clients with their participation in design studies and the coordination of industrial equipment assembly.

As part of our activities, we have a position available for a Site Piping Engineer (m/f) for the Hinkley-Point EPR project in the UK.

Dimensions:

• MEH End to End Engineering team is currently circa 120 engineers
• Piping Engineering team consists of circa 40 engineers
• Piping Construction Engineering team is currently 9 engineers, however this will grow to match the workload on site
• Budget responsibilities:
• Management of the MEH JV (installation company) is owned by the Programme Senior Project Manager. The base scope (piping, electrical and HVAC installation) of the JV contract is £800m.
• Efficient management of resourcing according to a defined budget.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Managing the Contract Engineering Lead activities for HK8010 installation contract related to BNI and/or BOP piping (construction activities), in particular:
• Writing of the technical specifications for erection activities
• Updating of LDRC (List of Documents Required from the Contractor) and Surveillance Plan for BNI and/or scope
• Answering Technical Queries
• Resolving the construction Open Points
• Coordinating the answer to Exemption Requests
• Coordination and reviewing deliverables from the Erection Contractors to support readiness of site erection activities
• Reviewing installation specifications from the Responsible Designer (RD)
• Assistance to HK8010 Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) to update the BNI and/or BOP discipline LAD (List of Applicable Documents) and Works Information
• Supporting HK8010 Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) to manage Early Warnings
• Handling specific technical topics and supporting project managers to prepare BFPI/CMB/PCR paper, etc.
• Supporting the construction Project Managers in the establishment of Key Performance Indicators with the objective of reporting site progress for construction activities.
• Proactive reactivity and technical experience to enable site construction activities to be executed without blockers to delivery, by providing technical support/expertise to close all open points/technical queries raised by the construction contractor.
• Coordinating interface with Front Office teams in the answers provided for Field Change Requests/Non-Conformances from site.
• Ensuring integration of the needs for activities post-construction (completion team) into the construction sequence (for instance: Hydro pressure test loop definition, Commissioning Test Pack review and acceptance).
• Coordinating all engineering activities to support construction sequence, including the identification and implementation of improvements to processes and ways of working (e.g., redlining process on site).

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in related engineering field
• Chartered Engineer with relevant engineering institute
• Detailed understanding of PWR design and experience in PWR operations
• Working knowledge of French language an advantage
• Good knowledge of CDM Regulations
