About the Opportunity

Energy Power Programmes are delivering critical works for major UK and European projects. Our embedded teams support Hinkley Point C (a new build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), develop SMR (Small Modular Reactor) technologies, and work towards building Poland's first energy power station.

The Piping Site Engineer role involves delivering the engineering required for the installation of the HPC MEH piping scope on site. This includes leading a team of engineers from the delivery to site of piping and equipment, through to handover to commissioning, and integrating the site scope within the wider E2E Piping Engineering team.

The Site Piping Engineer Lead reports to the BNI & BOP Piping Installation Contract Engineering Lead and the Piping Construction Engineering Lead. They are part of a team of leaders reporting to the Piping Engineering Manager, delivering the entire lifecycle of the piping scope. While upstream engineering is outside their scope, they should ensure integration with other team areas and disciplines.

Role responsibilities:
  1. Manage activities related to the HK8010 installation contract, including writing technical specifications, updating documentation, answering technical queries, resolving open points, coordinating exemption requests, reviewing deliverables, and supporting contract engineering updates.
  2. Support construction project managers in establishing KPIs to report site progress.
  3. Provide technical expertise to enable site construction activities to proceed without blockers by resolving open points and queries.
  4. Coordinate interface responses for field change requests and non-conformances.
  5. Ensure integration of post-construction activities into the construction sequence, such as hydro pressure tests and commissioning reviews.
  6. Coordinate engineering activities supporting construction sequences and process improvements.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Degree in a related engineering field;
  • Chartered Engineer status;
  • Understanding of PWR design and operations;
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations;
  • Experience with Balance of Nuclear Island systems, preferably in EPR projects;
  • Proven experience in a related construction engineering role;
  • Meticulous and rigorous engineering approach;
  • Ability to deliver engineering safely, on time, within budget;
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder influence skills;
  • Knowledge of contractual and commercial mechanisms.
