Job summary

Carr’s Billington Agriculture is seeking a reliable Site Operator to join the team at our Stone Mill in Stone, UK. This role covers day-to-day warehouse operations, with flexibility to support across the mill and other site areas to meet production needs.

You will help ensure safety, quality and efficiency, operate relevant plant and equipment, and work with drivers to load/unload vehicles while maintaining neat stock and proper records. Experience in agriculture/manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the weighbridge, warehouse, mill, maintenance or cleaning as required.
• Follow operating instructions to ensure plant efficiency and quality.
• Take samples of feed and tote runs and perform tests as specified.
• Maintain Tote Logs and inform Production Planner of stock shortages.
• Fill, label and store tote bins according to HACCP procedures.
• Ensure correct stock rotation and safe loading/unloading with drivers.
• Adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental policies.

We’re looking for a reliable and hands‑on Site Operator to join our team at our Stone Mill. This varied role will involve helping take responsibility for the day-to‑day operation and organisation of the warehouse, while also providing support and cover across other areas of the mill when required. THE JOB

To ensure that all warehouse activities are carried out efficiently and to provide cover duties for other areas of the site, as required due to holiday, sickness or demand, to ensure that the entire site, including the Mill, Warehouse and Weighbridge, can work safely and effectively and meets production demands in terms of volume, efficiency and feed quality in accordance with Company procedures.

• Undertake work in the appropriate area of the production facility as required, be that weighbridge, warehouse, mill, maintenance or cleaning.
• Take responsibility for following operating instructions and procedures in the area of the site that you are working so that plant and machinery is operated at optimum efficiency and finished product meets the quality and safety standards specified.
• Take ownership of taking samples of feed and tote runs as required and carry out tests as specified in any operating instructions.
• Take responsibility of completing Toting Logs and that information is accurate and properly recorded. Advise the Production Planner of possible shortages in stock levels.
• Take responsibility of correctly filling, labelling and storing tote bins according to all relevant Operating and HACCP Procedures.
• You will be responsible for warehouse effective stock rotation.
• Take a proactive approach in conjunction with the drivers, to ensure correct and safe loading and unloading of vehicles collecting from, and delivering to the Warehouse.
• Undertake the monitoring of stocks of consumables and inform the Site Manager of requirements. Maintain stocks of pallets, empty sacks and other items etc. in a neat and clean condition.
• Ensure there is no possibility of product cross over in the tote plant.
• Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
• To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS themes.
