Job description

Overview

Here at Stonbury we are recruiting for Site Operatives based in Market Drayton / Shropshire. £14.38 per hour with opportunities for price work. We are a direct delivery specialist contractor to both the water industry and wider water environment. We currently hold 30 frameworks, and we work with most of the UK’s water companies and the Environment Agency.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering works on our Water Utility and Environmental Agency contracts to a high standard and in a timely manner. Travel and overnighters will be part of the job. You will:

  1. Assist with the preparation of sites, including unloading and storing of building materials and plant.
  2. Store, handle, use and dispose of materials in the correct manner.
  3. Perform physical tasks such as basic timber shuttering, drainage and kerb laying, material mixing and application.
  4. Operate heavy machinery in conjunction with CPCS training e.g. diggers/dumpers/compressors.
  5. Maintain a safe and tidy working environment including wearing full PPE, at all times.
  6. Follow the Company Safety Handbook, and all other safety instructions.
  7. Follow all training and reasonable instructions given.
Who we’re looking for

You should have:

  1. Experience of working on-site, in a labourer capacity.
  2. Self-motivation and the ability to complete daily tasks with minimum supervision.
  3. Ability to work at heights safely, following relevant training.
  4. Ability to follow instructions and accept personal responsibility.
  5. Ability to lift, carry and push equipment.
  6. Ability to act on initiative, particularly in respect to Health & Safety and reporting relevant matters.
  7. Good driving skills in company vans, where driving will be monitored and tracked.
  8. Willingness to attend training courses, as and when required.
  9. Willingness to travel and work away from home, as and when required.
