Job description

Job Title: Site Operative - Portsmouth

We are recruiting for Site Operatives based in Portsmouth, working on clean water sites.

Salary: £14.38 per hour with opportunities for price work.

We specialize in sustainable water asset management solutions, delivering exceptional value outcomes in potable water, wastewater, and the environment.

Reporting to: Site Supervisor

You will be responsible for delivering works on our Water Utility and Environmental Agency contracts to a high standard and in a timely manner. Travel and overnight stays will be part of the job.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist with site preparation, including unloading and storing of building materials and plant.
2. Store, handle, use, and dispose of materials correctly.
3. Perform physical tasks such as timber shuttering, drainage, kerb laying, and material mixing and application.
4. Operate heavy machinery with CPCS training (e.g., diggers, dumpers, compressors).
5. Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, including wearing full PPE at all times.
6. Follow the Company Safety Handbook and all safety instructions.
7. Follow all training and reasonable instructions given.
8. Have experience working on-site as a labourer.
9. Be self-motivated and able to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision.
10. Work safely at heights, following relevant training.
11. Follow instructions and accept personal responsibility.
12. Lift, carry, and push equipment as needed.
13. Act on initiative regarding health & safety and reporting relevant matters.
14. Demonstrate good driving skills in company vans, with monitored and tracked driving.
15. Attend training courses as required.
16. Willingness to travel and work away from home as needed.
