Job summary

SUEZ is recruiting for a Transfer Station Site Operative in Northumberland. You will operate the weighbridge, stockpile material with a loading shovel, and manage daily imports/exports. You will maintain records, assist with routine site duties, and support safety and permit compliance.

The role includes first aid and fire warden duties as needed, with opportunities for training and progression within the team.

Job description

A Transfer Station Site Operative position has become available within the Northumberland PFI Operations Team.

THE DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Operating the weighbridge and following waste acceptance procedures to ensure correct and safe import and export of materials.
• Operating the loading shovel to stockpile material and load wagons for the export of material
• Maintaining accurate records for the import and export of material and of all activities on the site.
• Daily Stock takes and daily input of load details for stand alone HWRC’s
• Maintenance of site equipment and tools
• Ensuring that within his/her areas of responsibility, SUEZ Recycling & Recovery UK Ltd complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions. Including site visitors and contractors.
• Co-operating with SUEZ R & R UK Ltd and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ R & R UK Ltd Policies and Procedures
• Undertaking first aider duties and fire warden duties on site
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role

THE PERSON

• We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
• A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you may be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
• The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for good customer service, waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and operation of site machinery e.g. loading shovel.
• Basic computer skills for the input and recording of data on SUEZ R & R UK Ltd weighbridge and reporting systems are a requirement for this position.
