Job Description:

My client is looking to recruit a Site Operations & Warehouse Manager who will manage all elements of the warehousing and domestic transport operation within a busy Airfreight and distribution centre. This will include the overall management of the site and its facilities, ensuring that all logistics solutions are fully integrated, cost-efficient, and enhance customer service.

You will work for an industry leader that values its people, recognizing and rewarding hard work.

Responsibilities include:

• Transport administration, planning, and management of third-party carriers and internal drivers, inbound and outbound warehouse planning and processing.
• Stock management and control of goods, along with managing staff and resources effectively.
• Maintaining a safe working environment and housekeeping standards.
• Implementing continuous improvement initiatives in line with a Kaizen environment.
• Ensuring high standards of professionalism, liaising with customers, and meeting quality standards, KPIs, and SLAs.
• Health, Safety, and Welfare responsibilities, including compliance with regulations and dealing with H&S issues.
• Handling building maintenance and external contractor relations.
• Security responsibilities as the designated responsible person.

Additional duties:

• Resource and staff planning to meet daily operational targets.
• Managing operational supervisors and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Maintaining risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Managing operational costs and records.
• Overseeing maintenance of machinery and security equipment.
• Facilitating communication between team members, departments, and external partners.
• Coordinating with the Transport Manager and 3PL partners to ensure service quality and profitability.
• Promoting continuous improvement and a positive Kaizen environment.
• Staff disciplinary procedures, performance monitoring, and record keeping.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ managerial experience in warehouse and transport sectors.
• Experience in airfreight logistics.
• Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and results-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure calmly.
• Health & Safety and AvSec certification preferred.
• Budget management experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• O Licence desirable; training available.
