Job Description:
My client is looking to recruit a Site Operations & Warehouse Manager who will manage all elements of the warehousing and domestic transport operation within a busy Airfreight and distribution centre. This includes overall management of the site and its facilities, ensuring logistics solutions are fully integrated, cost-efficient, and enhance customer service.

Responsibilities:
- Manage transport administration, planning, and third-party carriers & internal drivers, including warehouse inbound and outbound planning.
- Maintain efficient stock management and control of goods, along with staff and resource management.
- Oversee housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in line with a Kaizen environment.
- Liaise with internal and external customers, ensuring high standards, accreditation, and KPI/SLA achievement.
- Ensure health, safety, and welfare compliance, including dealing with H&S issues and building maintenance.
- Manage quality and environmental standards and coordinate with external contractors and landlords.
- Handle security responsibilities related to the role.
Additional Duties:
- Plan resources and staff to meet daily operational needs.
- Manage operational supervisors to ensure timely completion of activities like unloading, put-away, picking, packing, and loading.
- Create and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work (SSOW).
- Monitor operational costs and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate maintenance of operational machinery and security equipment.
- Ensure effective communication across teams and external partners.
- Oversee domestic transport activities with the Transport Manager and 3PL partners.
- Promote continuous improvement and housekeeping initiatives.
- Handle staff disciplinary procedures and performance management.
- Maintain staff training and records.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' managerial experience in warehouse and transport environments.
- Experience in airfreight operations.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Flexible, reliable, and results-oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- AvSec and H&S certification preferred.
- Experience working within budgetary guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- O Licence desirable; training available if needed.
