Role Summary and Main Purpose of Position

As Operations & Site Manager Holywell Green you are responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to our Custom Packaging and Composites customer base situated in the EMEA region.

You will manage all Custom packaging and composites customer services, production, warehouse and distribution activity (customer services, customer & production stock management) and liaise closely with Supply chain, QHSE and sales team to ensure total customer satisfaction.

To gain a clear understanding of the company’s strategic and commercial targets, structuring the customer services, warehouse and distribution and production activities to meet current targets and future strategy.

As a member of the ADDEV Materials UK management team, set policies, procedures and KPIs that deliver the company’s objectives and communicate them clearly to your team. Manage, coach/mentor and support them in implementing and achieving their objectives.

  • Set the example and maintain a “customer first” attitude throughout your team.
  • Responsible for the Holywell Green site facility management, overseeing the scheduled maintenance of the building and critical plant equipment.
  • Manage the customer services, production, warehouse and distribution activities and processes to comply with the company QMS (Quality Management System) and maximize efficiencies and improve productivity.
  • Support the custom packaging and composite customer services team to deliver company targets controlling and utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Take ownership of customer issues and follow problems through to resolution.
  • Liaise with the supply chain team to ensure that the company’s inventory targets specific to custom packaging and composite business with regards to stock turn, inventory availability, stock optimization and obsolescence are achieved.
  • Reporting/Process Management: Oversee reports for supplier and business performance such as OTD, OTIF and stock management reporting via company ERP software.
  • Operational Delivery: For the production function, delegated customer consignment locations or 3rd party providers. Ensure that the people are managed and have the support and resources needed to perform their roles.
  • Implement a Sales and Operational Plan (S&OP) to increase visibility on our clients' material forecasting to optimize our stock holding, OWC and distributor obligations to our key supply partners.
  • Provide HR support to your team on matters such as staffing, disciplinary issues, timekeeping, training and development.
  • Oversight of IT & proactive use of the CRM platform as required to deliver the proper operation of the business.
  • Attend cross-functional meetings at UK level, contributing towards the operational and strategic development of the company.
  • Responsible for overseeing, implementation and adherence to company health and safety policies for the Holywell Green site.
  • Ad Hoc: To undertake any other duties - from time to time - which can be reasonably requested by the General Manager.

Key Challenges (and KPI’s)

  • Develop service procedures, policies and standards, maintaining accurate records and an orderly workflow according to priorities, ensuring they are time and cost effective.
  • Analyse statistics and compile detailed, meaningful reports as and when required.
  • Maintenance of ERP system to ensure correct and up to date data is available e.g. pricing, trade agreements, general data.
  • Take responsibility for the motivation, welfare, discipline and activity of nominated departments and ensure they operate to agreed performance standards. Identify any training and development opportunities within and facilitate training where possible.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate the supply chain team such as communication & activities as directed by the requirements of the business flowed down by the Operations Manager. Hold weekly meetings to ensure all staff are kept updated with any developments on a business and wider group level.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and report on departments and individuals' performance.
  • Target Monitoring: Ensure that operational targets are achieved and exceeded for each department they are responsible for.

Health and Safety

In addition to Main Duties and Responsibilities, every employee has overall responsibility for:

  • Taking reasonable care for your own Health and Safety and the Health and Safety of others who may be affected by your actions.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant Quality standards/procedures on your site, including reporting any deviations from these standards/procedures, completing corrective actions, and making recommendations to prevent similar deviations in the future.
