The Sterling Choice is seeking a senior operations leader to sit between the Manufacturing Manager and Site Director at a large, complex chilled food business in Leicestershire. You will coach and support the Manufacturing Manager, shaping the longer-term operational plan with the Site Director to improve efficiency and profitability.

This role sits between the Manufacturing Manager and Site Director at a large, complex chilled food business undergoing significant change.

The Manufacturing Manager leads day-to-day production. You’ll coach and support them, while working alongside the Site Director to shape the longer-term operational plan.

That means getting into the detail of labour efficiency, material usage and conversion costs. Deciding where improvement activity and investment will make the biggest difference. Then working with the teams to turn those decisions into results.

There’s plenty to get your teeth into.

Established ways of working are being challenged, and the leadership team is building a more effective, sustainable operation. You’ll need to bring direction while keeping people engaged through the changes.

You’ll already have led sizeable chilled food operations, delivered meaningful change and developed capable managers. You’ll understand how operational decisions affect the bottom line and be comfortable contributing at senior leadership level.

Your approach matters too. People need to see you, know you and feel comfortable telling you what’s happening. You’ll listen, make decisions and coach others to take ownership.
