The Position

You will be responsible for planning, implementing corrective and preventive maintenance, managing small civils projects to ensure the site's high quality standards and assets are maintained whilst ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Manages 3rd party contractors, reviewing and approving appropriate Contractor Induction, Risk Assessment Method Statements prior to any work being undertaken on site and assessing and agreeing completion of work.

The Site Operations Facilities Engineering Partner

Within the Site Operations Chapter we have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to join our team and deliver excellent service to all internal customers by ensuring that the office buildings and equipment is maintained in a safe and efficient manner to meet agreed specifications by completing planned maintenance, timely repair of breakdowns and conducting continuous improvement and project activities including identifying problem areas to ensure an efficient and effective maintenance service.

You should have a reasonable level of knowledge and experience in providing building maintenance services including health and safety, in a cost-effective and timely manner, whereby the buildings operate at an optimal and safe level ensuring employees have a pleasant and safe working environment, in full compliance with all internal and external standards, applicable to the laws, regulations and code of practice (where relevant) governing site maintenance, as well as having the following skills and competencies:

Experience of working in a office building environment, managing contractors and working on small to large projects

Knowledge of Health and Safety in building and engineering practice

Building Management Systems, current technology/systems, software applications and the ability to use the latest IT tools

Deep working knowledge of systems and approaches ensuring preventative maintenance is carried out and assets have the right maintenance schedules in place and are in a good state of repair. Maintenance schedules can be allocated effectively and efficiently

Planning and implementation of site projects and supporting on Capital projects

Understanding of supply, reporting and costing of utility services

Ability to work with complex instructions, identifies issues and enacts plans to resolve the situation quickly, and considers relevant improvements to increase efficiency

Manages multiple maintenance issues on a daily basis, requiring the application of expertise and prioritisation based on risk/business impact and understanding of processes

Well organised, attention to detail with a methodical and thorough approach to work, being proactive rather than reactive

Effective written and verbal communications skills, and ensuring professionalism at all times

Flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude and able to work outside of normal hours when required and be able to respond to out of hours Call Outs

A sense of personal responsibility and time management

Demonstrates leadership through interpersonal skills, with a professional and pleasant manner

Excellent problem-solving skills with an aptitude for analysis and detail.

Development of strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure service is meeting expectations and ensuring the engineering team is providing world class standards of service to our customers

Growth mindset to view bigger picture and take on Chapter initiatives/projects outside comfort zone

Customer Satisfaction Mindset.

Qualifications to have or work towards:

Multi skilled with electrical, mechanical and/or air conditioning qualifications

Sound knowledge and experience of building services and Health and Safety requirements

Mechanical or electrical skills either through time served apprenticeship or relevant experience or degree qualified with relevant practical experience

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

The ideal applicant will be an accomplished Multi-skilled Engineer who is self-motivated with a proactive approach, able to build and maintain good collaborative and trusted internal and external relationships. With exceptional time management, organised ability to plan and prioritise workload.
