Your Purpose

As a Site Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex water and/or wastewater projects across our programme. Working closely with the Site Manager and wider delivery team, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of mechanical works on site, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency at every stage. You’ll manage direct labour teams and sub-contractors, drive progress against programme milestones, and maintain the highest standards of compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supervise daily site activities, coordinating direct labour and subcontractors to meet programme targets
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely in line with HSE legislation, @one requirements, and approved method statements
  • Lead toolbox talks, pre-start briefings, and promote a proactive safety culture, encouraging near-miss reporting and behavioural safety practices
  • Carry out regular site inspections of plant, equipment, and works, ensuring compliance with temporary works and permit requirements
  • Monitor and track daily work outputs, reporting progress and issues promptly to the Site Manager
  • Champion quality by ensuring inspection and test plans are followed and works are “right first time”
  • Manage plant, equipment, and material requirements to support efficient site operations
  • Promote the adoption of digital tools and innovative working practices to improve site performance
  • Support continuous improvement and share knowledge to develop site teams and operatives
About You

We’re seeking a proactive and hands-on Site Mechanical Supervisor with strong leadership and organisational skills. You will ideally have:

  • A CSCS Supervisor card and proven experience in a similar mechanical supervisory role
  • Mechanical qualifications with experience in the water or construction industry
  • CITB SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid at Work qualifications
  • CPCS Lift Supervisor and Temporary Works Supervisor accreditations (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality management requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and mentor site teams
  • A practical, problem-solving approach and confidence in decision-making
  • IT skills and a willingness to adopt digital ways of working
