Job description

Site Manager – Transmission & Distribution Projects (m/f/d)

UK-Wide | Permanent | Up to 400kV

We are working with a fast-growing specialist contractor in the power transmission and distribution (T&D) space, currently hiring experienced Site Managers to oversee the delivery of multiple substation, cabling, and overhead line (OHL) projects across the UK.

This role offers the chance to lead on complex high-voltage schemes while championing safety, quality, and operational excellence across site teams.



Your Responsibilities

  • Manage overall delivery of HV projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to high SHEQ standards

  • Lead project teams on-site, including subcontractor management and resource planning

  • Oversee commercial risk, profitability, and contractual obligations on your projects

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle

  • Champion Zero Harm culture and ensure compliance with incident reporting and HSE procedures

  • Collaborate with internal departments (Head of Transmission, Regional Managers, support functions) to ensure seamless project execution

  • Support with tendering activities and contribute to future project wins

  • Encourage a high-performance, collaborative culture on site



What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience managing high-voltage T&D projects (substations, cabling or OHL)

  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project finances

  • Ability to manage subcontractors, resolve site issues, and drive delivery

  • Demonstrated leadership capability and people management skills

  • Comfortable managing standard to complex HV infrastructure projects (up to 400kV)

  • Experience supporting tenders and early-stage planning processes

  • Clear communicator who can lead cross-functional teams and manage client expectations
