We are now looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead day-to-day site operations on our 50MW solar farm project near Bristol, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

Job Summary

The Site Manager will oversee on-site construction activities, coordinating and supervising subcontractors (EPC and ICP), and ensuring that all works are delivered to the required safety, quality, and schedule standards. The role will be critical in ensuring that contractual obligations are met, and that the site is well-managed across all phases of the project from groundworks to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Site Management & Supervision

  • Act as the primary on-site representative for the project, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly and safely.
  • Coordinate and manage all on-site activities of EPC, ICP, and other subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with the construction programme and proactively manage site progress against milestones.
  • Chair regular site coordination meetings and report daily to the Project Manager on site progress, risks, and issues.
  • Oversee site logistics, deliveries, welfare facilities, and plant/equipment use.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure installation works are delivered in line with technical specifications, drawings, and project quality standards.
  • Work closely with the HSQE Manager to implement inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality checks, and snagging procedures.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues quickly, escalating where necessary.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Promote a safety-first culture, supporting the HSQE Manager with site audits, toolbox talks, and incident reporting.
  • Ensure RAMS are followed by all subcontractors and that site safety protocols are implemented and maintained.
  • Support implementation of environmental controls and sustainable working practices.

Contractual & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support the Project Manager in ensuring subcontractors deliver in line with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor and record subcontractor performance, variations, and any non-conformances.
  • Liaise regularly with engineering, commercial, and HSQE teams to ensure alignment across all workstreams.
  • Act as a point of contact for client representatives and key project stakeholders during site visits and inspections.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record as a Site Manager or Construction Supervisor on large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in utility-scale solar, electrical infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, drawings, and quality standards.
  • SMSTS or equivalent safety qualification required.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in site reporting, Microsoft Office, and basic project management tools.

Other Requirements

  • Must be based on-site with flexibility for extended hours as project phases require.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractor teams concurrently.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to site leadership and problem-solving.

This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering a landmark renewable energy project, contributing to the UK’s net zero future while ensuring operational excellence on site.
