Solar Site Manager - Commercial Solar

Kent, UK - UK wide travel

£45,000-£50,000 + vehicle, fuel card + benefits

MDE is assisting a solar organisation in recruiting a Site Manager who has experience managing heavily compliant construction environments. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing the delivery of rooftop and/or ground-mounted solar, solar carports, or similar projects between 250 kW and 5 MW in size.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee day-to-day site operations for commercial solar installations (rooftop, ground-mounted, and solar carports).
  2. Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  3. Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations, CDM requirements, and site-specific risk assessments.
  4. Coordinate subcontractors, site staff, and suppliers to maintain efficient workflows and mitigate delays.
  5. Monitor construction progress against the project plan and report to stakeholders.
  6. Conduct toolbox talks, inductions, and site safety briefings for all personnel.
  7. Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, HSE documentation, and site diaries.
  8. Liaise with clients, engineers, and local authorities to resolve issues and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
  9. Perform quality control inspections and handovers at key stages of the project.
  10. Ensure the site is operated safely, cleanly, and in line with company environmental and operational standards.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience with similar projects.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and HSE compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction plans.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
  • IT literate.
