Qualifications

• Experience delivering new-build housing developments, apartment schemes and high-rise residential projects.
• Proven track record of managing construction sites from commencement through to completion.
• CSCS Black Card preferred; SMSTS and First Aid at Work certification required.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of the site, leading the site team and working closely with the Project Manager to deliver the development on time and to required quality.
• Oversee all on-site Health and Safety requirements, manage subcontractors and site resources, and plan staffing to ensure the project remains resourced.
• Plan, sequence and programme site activities, identify potential issues and provide practical solutions to keep the project progressing to programme.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, Building Control standards and relevant legislation throughout construction.

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team in Bedford and take a key role in the successful delivery of a new-build residential development.

As Site Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of the site, leading the site team and working closely with the Project Manager and wider management team to ensure the development is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
You will oversee all on-site Health and Safety requirements, manage subcontractors and site resources, and advise on staffing requirements to ensure the project remains effectively resourced. You will be responsible for planning, sequencing and programming site activities, identifying potential issues and providing practical solutions to keep the project progressing to programme.

Quality will be a key responsibility, including drawing issue control, change control and ensuring works are completed to the required specification. You will also ensure that all site activities comply with HSE requirements, Building Control standards and relevant legislation throughout the construction process.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in new-build residential construction. Previous experience delivering new-build housing developments, apartment schemes and high-rise residential projects is essential.

You will have a proven track record of managing construction sites from commencement through to completion, with the ability to lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors and maintain high standards of Health and Safety, quality and programme delivery.
To be considered for the role, you must hold a valid CSCS card, preferably Black Card, together with SMSTS and First Aid at Work certification.
Experience across new-build housing, apartment developments and high-rise construction will be particularly valuable, and candidates with experience working for a PLC housebuilder will also be considered favourably.

Additional qualifications such as Scaffold Inspection, Lifting Operations and Confined Spaces Awareness would be highly desirable. A strong level of relevant qualifications and ongoing CPD will also demonstrate your commitment to professional development.
Most importantly, you will be a confident and proactive Site Manager who can take ownership of the site, make sound decisions under pressure and work collaboratively with the wider project team to deliver a successful development.
