Job description

We are looking for an experienced and driven freelance Site Manager to take a leading role in the construction of a state-of-the-art data centre. This is a technically demanding project, requiring excellent planning, coordination, and on-site leadership skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the project safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site activities from groundworks through to handover

• Manage subcontractors, site operatives, and suppliers

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures

• Monitor progress against programme and report updates to the project team

• Coordinate with M&E teams, consultants, and the client

• Conduct site inspections, manage snagging, and ensure quality control

• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and logistics plans

• Lead daily site briefings and toolbox talks

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience managing data centre, critical infrastructure projects or similar

• SMSTS and CSCS

• First Aid at Work certification

• Strong knowledge of M&E coordination and structural works

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills

• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications

• Proficient in using MS Project, Excel, and site reporting tools

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management or related discipline

• Experience working on live or highly serviced environments
