Job description

Fawkes & Reece are looking for a Site Manager to join a National Tier 1 contractor for 6 months on their project in Brixworth, Northamptonshire.

Reporting to the Construction Managers, the Site Manager will assist in delivering a range of Major Projects schemes on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council. We seek an enthusiastic individual with a proven track record in supervising all aspects of on-site maintenance and improvement schemes.

The works include footway reconstruction, carriageway resurfacing, surface treatments, drainage improvements, traffic signals, and structure repairs.

The position requires experience working on a live public highway, promoting a human-focused approach to safety, and ensuring compliance with all relevant SHEQ processes and procedures.

Key responsibilities for the Site Manager include:

  • Ensuring health and safety of yourself, the workforce, and the public in accordance with Kier SHE processes and procedures.
  • Managing construction sites to meet programme and budget requirements.
  • Engaging with WNC, the public, elected councillors, and parish councils.
  • Ensuring site compliance with Chapter 8 and the Construction (Design and Management) regulations.
  • Interpreting documents, scheme drawings, and B.O.Q's in line with NEC4 contract requirements.
  • Inspecting the quality of work according to the Inspection Test Plan and scheme designs.
  • Managing NEC4 change control procedures for early warnings and compensation events.

Requirements and skills include:

  • HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
  • NRSWA Supervisor certification
  • 12D Traffic Management certification
  • NEBOSH General and Construction Certificates
  • SMSTS certification
  • A clean driving licence

Additional skills:
