About the client: Our client is a well-established main contractor specialising in delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use developments. With a strong pipeline of projects in the South, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager with proven timber frame experience to oversee the delivery of a fast-paced housing scheme in Portsmouth. This is a key role where you will be responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety standards, and driving the project to successful completion on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily site operations, ensuring compliance with health & safety policies
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and direct labour
  • Oversee timber frame erection, ensuring build quality and programme deadlines are achieved
  • Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and ensure RAMS are adhered to
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and communication with the Project Manager
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships on site
Qualifications
  • Proven Site Manager experience within residential construction
  • Strong track record of managing timber frame projects
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential)
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver projects to a high standard
