Job summary

G Force Recruitment Ltd, on behalf of a leading UK engineering and construction installation organisation, seeks a Permanent Site Manager (MEICA) to lead the full installation lifecycle across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic plant. You will manage site programmes, CDM coordination, NEC contracts and RAMs, liaising with clients and teams on UK sites.

The role is UK-wide with travel and a 37-hour week plus overtime.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice-trained in Engineering with an HNC or similar.
  • SMSTS / CDM regs knowledge required.
  • Experience leading mechanical site installations with NEC contracts advantageous.
  • Commercial awareness for contract coordination including NEC contracts.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel UK-wide.

Responsibilities

  • Site Management, planning & CDM coordination on projects.
  • Overseeing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic installation works.
  • Manage NEC contracts and client relationships.
  • Prepare site programmes using Microsoft Project; produce RAMs.
  • Lead dismantling, refurbishment and installation of large structures and equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety in line with regulations.

Permanent - Site Manager (MEICA)

Location: HQ South Yorkshire – Travel / onsite UK wide

Salary package: £55k - £60k p/a + pension + medical + 25 days hols. + package

Working week: Monday to Friday, 37hr standard week + Overtime

The Client

Our client, is a leading UK engineering and construction installation organisation, specialising in large mechanical, electrical and control projects from initial concept through to installation and commission. They operate in heavy engineering sectors, including nuclear, infrastructure, marine and specialist lifting, to name buy a few.

The role

This is an autonomous Site Installation Manager role, manging full installation lifecycle, from site installation to commission and handover, particularly across disciplines including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic plant.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Site Management, planning & CDM Coordination
  • Working on plants within a project related environment, incorporating mechanical/ electrical/ hydraulic installation.
  • Managing NEC contracts
  • Preparing site programmes using Microsoft Project, risk assessments and method statements (RAMs)
  • Managing the dismantling, refurbishment and installation of a variety of large complex structures/moving equipment which includes drives, gears, valves, pumps etc.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to relate to both client and workforce scenarios.
  • Working to the Health & Safety at Work Act
Person Specification
  • Apprentice-trained in Engineering (fabrication / Mechanical / electrical) with an HNC or similar
  • SMSTS / CDM regs
  • Ideally 5-10 years of experience in mechanical site installations management or supervision
  • Ideally having experience in a planning & coordination management capacity on various sites and plants preferably incorporating mechanical/ electrical/ hydraulic installation
  • Skilled in leading teams & managing client relationships
  • Experience integrating and working with and alongside electrical teams
  • Commercial acumen - Contract coordination of NEC contracts
  • First Aid / IoSH Managing Safely desirable
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Flexible for site travel - customers sites across the UK
