Job Title: Site Manager - Sub Contractor (Drylining, Partitions, Suspended Ceilings)

Location: Leeds (Site Based)

Pay Rate: £200 - £250 a day

Role Overview:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Freelance Site Manager to lead the on-site delivery of drylining and suspended ceilings packages across long-term commercial and residential projects. Working on behalf of a specialist subcontractor, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring quality workmanship, and driving works to meet programme deadlines and health & safety standards.

This is a hands-on, site-based role ideal for a freelance professional with a strong understanding of interior systems, capable of managing labour, coordinating with main contractors, and ensuring smooth, efficient project execution from start to finish.

Key Requirements:
  • SMSTS certification
  • At least 5 years' experience in Drylining and Suspended Ceilings
Responsibilities:
  • Manage on-site delivery of drylining, plastering, ceilings, and partitioning packages
  • Coordinate labour, subcontractors, and material deliveries to meet programme deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, RAMS, and company procedures
  • Interpret drawings and specifications to guide installation and ensure quality
  • Monitor site progress, record daily activities, and report issues to senior management
  • Conduct site inspections to maintain workmanship and quality control
  • Liaise with main contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve site matters
  • Lead site briefings and coordinate snagging and handover processes
  • Maintain site records, including delivery logs, inductions, and toolbox talks
